about

In 1979 I watched an amazing film called "Wiseblood" made by the legendary John Huston and starting a fascinating actor by name of Brad Dourif. This piece followed soon thereafter.

The story is basically as follows.
"After returning home from World War II, uneducated and irreligious U.S. Army veteran Hazel Motes (Brad Dourif) decides to make his way in the world by impersonating a priest and starting his own religion."

Personally I've never felt comfortable with any one particular religion, though I do resonate with many traditional beliefs both eastern and western based. But either way this film and Mr. Dourif's performance resonated inside me in a big way and still does all these years later.

I don't believe in sin, I think it is a made up scenario for human beings to try and keep each other in check or hold power over another. But then how do you explain why there is an intuitive nature within each being about right and wrong? I don't know, hope you like the piece.
